Info

The Beatles, also known as the White Album, is the ninth studio album and only double album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968. Its plain white sleeve has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed, which was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band's previous LP Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Beatles is recognised for its fragmentary style and diverse range of genres, including folk, British blues, ska, music hall. THE BEATLES SECOND ALBUM was originally released April 10, 1964 in the U. It spent five weeks at No. Track Listings. Disc: 1. I supposedly have this version, and my Matrix don't match any other UK listing on here for 84,85,87.LP04: Beatles For Sale (PCS 3062)A-SIDE MATRIX: YEX 142-5-1-2^ HTM 6(or is it 9? it is on it's side compared to the other markings, the chevron after the 2 is more like the top of a 7 with the stem missing, or a high placed hyphen)B-SIDE MATRIX: YEX 143-6 3(no sign of any other markings or misfires on this side)Hope this helps.
Yozshunris
Would someone who owns this 1978 version post the matrix #s. Trying to discern this version from the UK reissues has been a daunting task, especially since this key piece of information is missing from discogs. Also, do any Beatles experts have other ways to figure out different versions? My only key piece of information so far is that the 1987 UK reissued LPs have barcodes and the previous three versions do not.

Hello, my copy is a Dutch version, Parlophone ‎– 0C 162-53163/53176 (BC13), 14 LP's.I yust have played a few records, Rubber Soul is sonically poor, but Beatles for Sale is sonically better, strange. But i'm happy with my boxset.
Ishnjurus
Why was magical mystery tour not included in this box set?
Molotok
Magical Mystery Tour was originally issued as an EP in all countries outside the United States. After seeing the success of US Capitol version, they were made available worldwide in the 1970's in Re-Channeled Stereo, True Stereo, and Mono on the Apple label.
Mushicage
Because there was no UK Magical Mystery Tour LP and these are all UK releases. In the UK they did a MMT EP with the 5 movie originals plus I Am The Walrus.
Uaoteowi
I bought my set. Came home put it a closet with a blanket wrapped around it, and its been there since,
Usishele
Why did you put it away? These pressings sound great! The best in my opinion. They deserve to be played!

1. Grateful if someone can advise how to identify the different UK releases (1978, 1984, 1987) of 'The Beatles Collection LP Box Set BC13.2. Also I note that each box set appears to contain the same number of LPs but they are described differently in the three Releases:- 1978 ( 14 x LP = 11 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x Compilation LP)- 1984 (13 x LP = 11 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x Compilation LP)- 1987 (13 x LP = 11 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x Compilation LP)Was this just part of the marketing description?ThanksChris

AmoebaMusic: That's not entirely correct. 1978 Parlophone records - which may be part of the '78 box - already start with "All Rights..."
Thetalen
The White album is a double LP set = 14 records but only 13 titles
Gavidor
There's a forum with a bunch of great info, but I found this very helpful in determining whether the vinyl was pressed in 1978 or the 80's:The Parlophone label was basically unchanged from the early 70s until the early 80s (the rim print starts with "EMI Records..." or for Apple "All Rights of the Manufacturer"). If the Parlophone labels start with "All Rights..." (or for Apple "Producer" instead of "Manufacturer"), it dates to the early 80s or beyond.I would check the inner sleeves to see if there are dates are below the patent info. Whatever the latest date is on a single sleeve, you'll know that the box was put together no earlier than that date. That's from:http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/beatles-blue-box-collection.290413/page-3

Hi there,Just bought in Spain the The Beatles Collection 10C-100-053.163 boxset. 1978 It is different from the other boxes whom are issued in several countries back then. For instance; the box opens more diagonale in stead of horizontale (from 5 cm from the left top to 10 cm to the right top)So far, and I've spend hours on surfing on the web, I didn't find any information about this boxset except for one Spanish site which suggest that the box has 15 albums . So far , as far as my knowledge reach about this, the box contains 13 or 14 Lp's .The box is sealed and obviously I don't want to open it.Does anyone has more information about this Spanic issue? I've searched at Discogs, Popsike, eBay etc. Thanks for your effort, so far.Kind regards from Holland Hans

The Beatles – The Beatles Collection BC 13 OC 162-53163/53176Almost 30 years ago my wife's Collection Box 'completed' my already complete collection of all Beatles albums and Singles so far. But to my surprise a real funny pressing error occured on Side 1 of "A Hard Day's Night": Instead of the 7 Beatles tracks you can listen to the 8 Beach Boys tracks "Then I Kissed Her", "Barbara Ann", "Sloop John B", "You're so good to me", "Good Vibrations", God Only Knows", "Wouldn't it be nice", "Heroes and Villains"!The label print on the disc (Netherland pressing) shows Parlophone 1A 062 04145 (YEX 126), but as told 8 different tracks. Both the Beach Boys and the Beatles have been labeled under Capitol Records of EMI, so the pressing matrices might had been there around those days. In fact the box set was limited to a couple of thousands globally, but it might be interesting, how many copies of this 'mixture' have been made and sold.

A few years ago I saw a Blue Box set for sale on ebay that the seller claimed was mono. I don't remember what records were included in the box set. I haven't seen anything like it since. does anyone know anything about such a pressing? If I remember correctly it was from 1982 and the claim was that is was a UK pressing.
Visonima
I have some mono. White was the first stereo plate.
porosh
and yes you can find it in UK,Europe and US pressing but he is really expensive i believe
Ubranzac
Hello,i think it's this one in Mono from 1982 ?? https://www.discogs.com/fr/Beatles-Mono-Collection/master/683556

ek1psu All the blue boxes contained stereo LPs. However, there was a mono set issued in 1982 that came in a red box. See The Beatles - Mono Collection. The Beatles Collection was issued in Mono in 1982 and issued in a black colored box. The mono UK LPs were also issued separately. I sold one a few months ago. It's very rare. 's

I have the US Capitol version BC13 numbered. There were only 2000 issued in 1978. I do not see this version listed...

HTM = Harry T. Moss (EMI Mastering/Cutting Engineer) initials.HTM was "in the building" for the Beatles' first session in June of '62HTM cut SGT. PEPPER and it took him 8 times to get the cutting right with the concentric run out groove (mono and stereo)ALL British Beatles albums were cut at EMI by Harry Moss (EXCEPT for original 1969 Abbey Road master disk which was cut by Malcolm Davies at Apple. I read about this in Geoff Emerick's book).HTM was there in the mid to late 80's when Mark Lewisohn wrote THE COMPLETE BEATLES RECORDING SESSIONS as it seems that he asked him to confirm information about the first Fabs session. HTM was retired at an advanced age in 1988. He passed away in early 1990s (around 1993).

I own a record from this collection and my record says made in Japan
Nilabor
This is UK box issued in 1978 (1st pressing of the set). The Japanese 1st box was issued in 1979, as far as I know.
FEISKO
Well it depends on the year of issue.
